PSALM 23 THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

Green Pastures and Still Waters: What Rest Really Means

Our culture glorifies busyness, saying the best distraction is to get busy, in work, in daily amends. We have changed the entire notion of nature, and that has successfully led to imbalance in the world, in our inner peace, physical health, etc. However, Psalm 23: the lord is my shepherd paints a different picture:

He Makes Me Lie Down In Green Pastures, He Leads Me Beside Still Waters”

Rest is not laziness; it’s about trusting the pause before making any progress. It’s necessary. Working day and night with the means of achieving everything and also taking rest for some time of your life, like taking a trip, or just being at home and reflecting on yourself, does not mean you are lazy, or you would achieve everything if you do not rest a night, No.  The very words of our lord in Psalm 23 elect the notion of rest.
